On July 10, 2001, we welcomed Rebecca Claire into the world. She was absolutely perfect – another beautiful daughter. A few hours after her birth, our pediatrician gently informed us that Rebecca had been born with Down syndrome. The next 48 hours were a real emotional roller coaster. We cried, we asked ourselves, “Why?”, and we prayed. A lot.

Sometimes I hear a song and I HAVE to find it….
Paul and Sarah were watching Kill Bill, Volume 2 a while back, and this song played as the credits rolled. Thanks to the Internet, I was able to find a list of the songs on the movie soundtrack, and from there it was just a hop, skip, and a jump to Amazon and YouTube to figure out which song I was looking for.
Got this in my e-mail from my aunt, and had to share it with all of you (this was forwarded to her by someone else – it’s just one of those funny stories):
After I retired, my wife insisted that I accompany her on her trips to Target. Unfortunately, like most men, I found shopping boring and preferred to get in and get out. Equally unfortunate, my wife is like most women – she loves to browse. Yesterday, my dear wife received the following letter from the local Target:

This F-16 was painted to celebrate the 149th FW 65th anniversary. The United States Air Force’s 149th Fighter Wing is a Texas Air National Guard unit located at Kelly Field Annex, Lackland AFB, in San Antonio, Texas.

The 149th Fighter Wing is an F-16 flying training unit that includes a support group with a worldwide mobility commitment. The cornerstone of the 149th’s flying mission is the 182d Fighter Squadron, whose role is to take pilots – either experienced aircrew or recent graduates from USAF undergraduate pilot training – and qualify them to fly and employ the F-16. After 30+ years, the man still makes me laugh.
As you may remember, we purchased a new washer and dryer earlier this week – they are supposed to be delivered sometime today.
Since Sarah is living at home right now, she gets up in the mornings and gets Rebecca ready for school while Paul is getting ready for work (Paul is so sweet – since my MG diagnosis, he lets me sleep in most mornings so that I don’t get too tired during the day).
This morning, as Paul is leaving for work, he leans across the bed, nibbles on my ear, and grins that mischievous grin that I love so much.
“Sooo…..when the new washer and dryer get here, you are going to wait until I get home to do a load of laundry, right? Because I want to be her ‘first’….”
I was laughing so hard, I almost fell out of bed. 😛

Years ago, we used to go to Red Lobster and pig out on their Cheddar Biscuits. Unfortunately, when we had to start eating gluten-free, we had to say “Goodbye” to those yummy bites of heaven.
Thankfully, I found this recipe – all I have to do is substitute GF flour for regular, and we’re off to the races! These are a perfect accompaniment to just about any meal, but they are especially good for picnics or summer get-togethers – just plan on making an extra batch to keep at home, because there won’t be any leftovers!

Last year, Paul and I headed down the highway to attend my High School Reunion. It was great to see old friends and catch up on what had been happening in our lives, but I’m sure that I was not the only one of my classmates who was wondering what to expect.
