Many of you may remember my previous adventures in 21st-century technology. Well, true to form, I’m continuing my downward spiral on what is looking to be a one-way ticket to the loony bin.
You see, we have a wedding anniversary coming up, and since I wasn’t blogging last year when our 30th came around, I thought I’d do something special for this one. I wanted to incorporate some music into the mix, so a blog post wasn’t going to be quite enough.
There are no words. A truly terrible, horrible day:
A NATO helicopter crash in Afghanistan on Saturday killing 31 U.S. special-forces troops, including more than 20 Navy SEALS from the unit that killed Osama bin Laden, and 7 Afghan commandos.

All kidding aside, I’ve actually seen a couple of videos that I am NEVER going to be able to scrub from my brain that show what real terrorists do to those who do not share their philosophies.
People in other parts of the world live with REAL terrorism every single day of their life, mainly because they do not live in a country where the rule of law exists to protect them from an over-reaching government that is only out for what it can extract from its citizenry.
On Friday, we got the latest edict from on high:
President Obama announced new automobile fuel-efficiency standards on Friday that require an average 54.5 miles per gallon by 2025.

I don’t know about you, but I’m getting sick and tired of this president waiting until the last minute to take care of problems that are entirely of his own making. Now, I don’t know if this method of governing is the result of this man never having been held to account for his irresponsible actions in his personal and/or professional life, or if it is by design.
My guess is it is a little bit of both.
However, as the old saying goes, “Failure to plan on your part DOES NOT constitute an emergency on my part.”

If any of my children were stand-up comics, I would be giving them plenty of material to use in their act.
I used to laugh at all of those comedians who told stories about their parents and grandparents not being able to work a VCR or figure out how to use an answering machine.

He/she will then wait in line for popcorn while simultaneously pulling the two (2) children away from the “Postal Assassin” video game in the lobby and explaining to them why they’re not allowed to buy hot dogs cooked by a pimply concession stand worker. The individual is then expected to escort the two (2) children into the appropriate theater and find three seats that are a) not too close to the screen or b) behind a large man whose size prompts the children to scream that they “totally can’t see because of this stupidhead’s big stupid head” and kick his seat until he threatens to call an usher and have them ejected….
