Tuesday Tunes – “When The Saints Go Marching In”

Today is Mardi Gras – also known as “Fat Tuesday” – so what better song to celebrate the fun than the song that has become synonymous with New Orleans and Dixieland Jazz than”When the Saints Go Marching In”?

We’ll start off with the “original” – the one and only Louis Armstrong:

Next, the great clarinet player Pete Fountain:

Here’s a rollicking FUN version by a group from the UK called the Jive Aces:

.

And finally, here’s a bonus version of this song with Louis Armstrong and Danny Kaye from the movie “The Five Pennies” (it hasn’t got that “New Orleans”/Mardi Gras feeling to it, but it was too good not to include):

Have a great day!
