My Advent Calendar of Music – Day #9: Let’s Hear it For The Boys

Yesterday I featured songs by the ladies – today I figured I ought to give the fellas equal time.  I’ve tried to include a nice mix of old and new in this post; I hope you like today’s selections!

Let’s start out with Ol’ Blue Eyes, the “Chairman of the Board”, Mr. Frank Sinatra, singing “The Christmas Waltz”:
.

.
Here’s another holiday classic – Perry Como knows there is no place like “Home For The Holidays”:
.

.
I just love Harry Connick’s swinging version of “Frosty the Snowman” – he may be a contemporary artist, but he has done a lot to bring back the “Big Band” sound, and modern audiences really like it:
.

.
This one is for my friend, Roamy (who suggested this one) – Josh Groban’s “Believe”, featured in the movie “The Polar Express”:
.

.
Johnny Mathis’ version of “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” – although Perry Como’s version may be more well known, this one is my personal favorite:
.

.
Michael Buble put out a Christmas album in 2011 (one that was quickly added to my collection!) – this is by far my favorite version of “Winter Wonderland” (with my sincerest apologies to Bing, Perry, Johnny, and all the rest of the gents who have covered this song in the past):
.

.
Well, I’d better wrap it up for today – I do believe those boys in that picture up there might need some refreshments….
