Top 10 (OK, 11) Tips on Surviving Your High School Reunion

Reunion.
Tomorrow, Paul and I will be heading down the highway to attend my High School Reunion.  It’ll be great to see old friends and catch up on what’s been happening in our lives, but I’m sure that I am not the only one of my classmates who is wondering what to expect.

Here, then are some things to keep in mind:

1) You never know when you will get that invitation, but when you do….

.
.

2) There is no way to know if you will have a fun-filled evening:

.
.

3) Or if things will go horribly, horribly wrong:

.
.

4) It is important to establish and maintain a believable persona, so be sure and practice your moves BEFORE you arrive:

.
.

5) Be sure that your organizers reserved a block of rooms at a hotel far away from this one:

.
.

6) Remember – by now it’s probably been so long that nobody has the first clue what you look like:

.
.

7) There may be a few awkward moments, but chances are there are plans in place to minimize any uncomfortable situations:

.
.

8) Plan on having fun, but be careful not to overdo it:

.
.

9) No doubt your classmates have some very special entertainment planned:

.
.

10) If you’re lucky, the sordid details of things that went on behind the scenes may finally be revealed:

.
.

And, finally:

11) At the end of the evening, while most of the old fogies your friends will pack it in at a reasonable hour, there will always be those adventurous few (you know who you are) who will be out causing trouble long after the party is over:

.
.

Have a great time catching up with all of your old friends – and please don’t do anything that might embarrass your children….

  2. Enjoyed this and was happy to visit with you and Paul on Sunday. Our school was so small they do 30 year reunions to get enough people together. Ha! Aunt Imo.
