Yesterday, I heard something that I have never – NEVER – heard an American politician admit on national TV: that the American government has been lying to her people for the past 75+ years. See if you can pick it out:
Scott Pelley: Can you tell the folks at home no matter what happens that Social Security checks are going to go out on August the 3rd? There are about 20 billion dollars of Social Security checks that have to go out the day after the government is supposed to go into default.
Obama: Well this is not just a matter of Social Security checks, these are veteran’s checks, these are folks on disability, their checks. There are about 70 million checks that go out —
Scott Pelley: Can you guarantee as President those checks will go out on August the 3rd?
Obama: I cannot guarantee those checks go out on August 3rd if we haven’t resolved this issue because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it.
Did you catch that?
If you didn’t, you’re not alone. I haven’t heard anyone pick up on this since this clip first surfaced.
But in that one phrase – “there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it” – this American president admitted what many people have been saying for decades: not only is the American government stealing money from the people, but the entire Social Security scheme is a lie.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve listened to what politicians have been saying all these years – they tell us that all of the money that people have been FORCED to contribute towards their “retirement” has been put into some sort of “Lock Box”. To hear them talk about it, that money is sacrosanct – set aside, never to be touched, always there, NO MATTER WHAT.
The reality is, of course, very different, but politicians have always used soothing words and calm tones to placate their constituents into believing that their government is looking out for them.
Until yesterday.
Yesterday, I heard an American president threaten little old ladies with the power of a government that was never meant to have that kind of power.

Yesterday, I heard an American president tell little old ladies that all of the money that their families had been forced – in good faith, mind you – to give to the government for decades not only wasn’t THEIRS, it also wasn’t THERE.
Yesterday, I heard an American president admit that not only has the government been stealing money from her people, that same government is willing to hold the people hostage until they comply with the government’s bidding.
Yesterday, I heard an American president tell the American people that the government doesn’t have to abide by the very laws that were put in place to protect the people from the government.
Yesterday, I heard an American president make a huge political blunder. I don’t think he meant to do it; as a matter of fact, I don’t think that he even realizes what he just did. But in trying to have his own way, in trying to scare little old ladies, in trying to grab power, this president told the truth – for once.
For you see, yesterday an American president pulled back the curtain and revealed the sham that those in positions of power within the government have ALWAYS known the Social Security system to be.
Yesterday, an American president admitted on national television that all of these years the government has been fleecing the sheep.
Time for the sheep to fight back.
Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force; like fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action.

I think some guy over at Forbes wrote about it today as well. It was the first thing that struck me when I heard the clip yesterday – I turned to Paul and said, “Did you hear what he just admitted?” I was dumbfounded at Obama’s inability to think about what he was actually saying – I mean, I know the guy is petulant and petty, but any seasoned politician would know better than to let that particular cat out of the bag….
Oh, well – this is the guy the Democrats were willing to have carry the ball for them back in 2008 when they all threw Hillary under the bus. Their chickens are coming home to roost –

Great post. Though I must ask, when has Obama ever thought about the things he says? Why else tether him to a teleprompter if for no other reason than when the Prez ‘freestyles’, he openly shows all the rabid radical that he is.

Obama’s made a lot of bone-head comments off teleprompter lately. The MSM is providing pretty good cover, and I fear that few outside of circles such as our have heard. How many folk, besides right wingers, heard that Obama figured the average American didn’t understand things like the debt ceiling?

Should not be news to anyone that there is no such thing as a “Social Security Lock Box”. The SS Ponzi scheme has been looted for years – under all administrations – to pay for anything under the sun except for what it was designed for. An even bigger lie is that “there is no money in the Treasury to pay for the checks”. Anticipated tax revenue for the month of July (according to the Treasury Dept.) is in excess of $175 billion. As usual, the government is denying the real problem of overspending and attempting to pin the blame on, in this case, “greedy seniors”. The other day during a press conference Obama also made the statement that Americans should not regard all the money that they make as theirs, that they should recognize that the government has the right to whatever portion of it they see free to demand. Why are so many people unable to recognize the danger that this inept, Marxist charlatan poses to our nation?

The irony is that Obama is vilifying those “evil” insurance companies when, in fact, the US Government is the “insurance company” that services Social Security…..

Has not this has been the guarantee from Dimocrats for years? The “guaranteed” Social Security check for the “little man.” Wasn’t that what all of us have been told? The necessary security blanket? That is, unless the Comedian-in-Chief for President wants to use it as a political weapon.
Hope everyone just realized why this is reason #141 that Social Security would be much better managed by privatization – there wouldn’t be a politician with an agenda holding it for starters. And I hope this pompous ass for President does exactly that. 😉
